I'm young (42) and due to hair dye allergies am trying to just let the silver/gray come in...which is really tough in today's society! THIS book is the BEST book I have read yet on the subject. It is filled with testimonies(and great pictures) that explain their whole transition from start to finish plus the products they like to use. It has both older women and younger women that have transitioned which I really appreciated! It also has sections on hair care/hair products/skin care/makeup/clothes etc for when you "go gray". Right now I have basically what looks like silver tinsel in my dark hair. This book is so positive and uplifting and shows you that gray can be GREAT and not to feel inferior to those who dye........ I'm not sure why people feel the need to make comments such as "that will make you look old" "why would you want to do that"- how RUDE! but it happens! This book "has my back" as far as comments you can say back to those people but also to know you aren't alone in hearing it and can keep going through with it- the end result will be worth it! gray hair doesn't have to make you look old/washed out/drab- change your hairstyle, makeup or clothing a little and add a confident attitude and you'll look great- get this book!!!! invaluable for the process!!!

This is a fabulous book. Whether you are considering "ditching the dye" or have already done so, this book is a must. Practical information on how to care for gray hair and how to handle the dreaded transition. I loved the stories of each woman's journey that are profiled in the book. I read the book in a weekend. I truly did not want it to end. It was like meeting new friends and sharing stories.After reading this book I was thinking back on how long it has been since I have colored my hair. As we age, we typically tend to be very aware of taking good care of our bodies from the inside out. Much of us become more aware of caring for the world around us. While was on this journey in my life to eat cleaner foods, care for my home in a less chemical environment, why was I making my hair and body a toxic waste dump with coloring chemicals. Not to mention the cost, time and waste/trash generated coloring every 3 weeks. Removing the dying process from my self care routine just made so much more sense to me. No more wavering about what it would looks like, etc., it is just better for me and planet in the long run.I bought the digital copy. Loved it so much I will be ordering the paper copy.

This is the book for you if you are thinking of giving up the dye bottle. It is also beneficial for those of you that have gone natural and want to know what other women use for their hair products.

I really enjoyed this book and found the personal stories very interesting. I stopped coloring my hair about 5 years ago in my early 50's after 30 years of coloring, but it was a big transition for me to get there. My youngest child was born when I was 41 years old and at that point I was very sensitive to people thinking I was his grandmother instead of his mother. I sure could have used this book back then. I now LOVE my gray hair. Even though I stopped coloring a long time ago I still found this book very inspiring as I hope other women will too. I did buy this in the Kindle format, and as usual with non-fiction books, I'm sorry I did. I will now be buying this book in the paperback format.

I found out about this book after I had started my journey to gray hair and wish I would have found it sooner. Everyone has a story, a why, which I found interesting, along with their individual tips as to what worked for them. The photographs are gorgeous! The author has shared her expertise with tips on skin care, style, jewelry, make up, not to mention products that work to add shine, help style and keep gray/silver/white hair in beautiful condition. I read it once, reading again and do refer to it before I go on the hunt for other products to try. Treat yourself with this book!

Yes, I was cynical after reading all the great reviews. Can a book about gray hair be THAT good?! Well, yes it is! I am in transition from dyed hair to my natural salt & pepper color. Whether you're thinking about ditching the dye, have already done so, or are in transition, this is a tremendous guide with a wealth of information. I would highly recommend that you NOT buy this book in an E-format. Spend the extra money and buy the actual book; it has beautiful photographs in color that you don't want to miss.

I found this book on the GGG Facebook page ([...]) and immediately wanted a copy. When it arrived, I read it through a few times. Great information, beautiful women and such POSITIVITY!!!! This journey has been emotional, scary and sometimes downright depressing. To read the journey(s) of others that have gone through it has been the cherry on top of my last 4 1/2 years. I will keep reading, posting and hopefully my journey can help someone else taking that plunge. Thanks JAN!!!

I’ve been shooting skeet for about a year and a half. Since then I have read or watched a number of books and DVDs about shooting skeet. For me the two very best are King Heiple’s and Rollin Oswald’s books. Both contain a wealth of useful info I haven’t found anywhere else, and both are written in simple, easy-to-understand language.As for The Stock Fitter’s Bible, I find the title a bit misleading, which is probably why I waited so long to buy the book. Did I really want to know all the intricacies of stock fitting? Some things just seemed better left to experts, especially because I patterned my shotgun and it seemed to pattern the way I wanted it to.But I now know I was wrong. Mr. Oswald’s book is about a lot more than stock fitting. To me the book is as much about proper gun mounting and gun swinging—both essential to good shooting—as it is about stock fitting.The simple fact is, whether I wanted to see it or not, an improper gun fit leads to an improper mount and swing. Mr. Oswald also provides the best analysis of gun mounting that I have ever read or seen.(In my case I went from putting too little cheek pressure against the comb to putting too much. (I pressed my cheek as hard as I could.) Until I read this book I never realized that too much cheek pressure makes it hard to maintain constant pressure during the swing, and therefore causes slight head lifting.)Mr. Oswald provides an in-depth analysis of the five primary dimensions of stock fitting—pitch, drop at heel, cast, length of pull, drop at comb—and how they are all interrelated.So how do we know if our gun fits? And if it doesn’t, how do we correct the fit? Mr. Oswald answers these important question, yet admits that, in many cases, going to a good, professional gun fitter can be helpful.(When and if I go at least I’ll be able to ask the right questions and have a good idea of what will work for me.)Also, the book has a chapter about the importance of grips and palm swells, things I never gave any thought to.The beginning of the book is a short but, to me, interesting history of stock fitting.I learned so much from this book. That is why, to me, it’s remarkable.

This book has taken me to the next level of trap shooting. I am self taught and it is now become clear to me the importance of gun fit. My first 100 straight in ATA competition was accomplished before I got this book by making the gun fit me. This also meant compensating for a field gun that did not shoot where my eyes were looking. The day I shoot 100 straight I bought a used real trap gun and it had an adjustable stock, hence the purchase of this book. I do credit all the other advise I received by reading Daro Handy "Professional Trap Shooting" for my first 100. Now with the "Stock Fitter's Bible" I am understanding a lot of the missing pieces and my scores are showing it.

This book was very well done . It described common issues associated with poor fitting guns, many of them applied to me. I gained a much greater understanding of what is involved in stock fitting , proper shooting form, and the expected benefits , specifically better scores and less felt recoil . I believe I could accomplish fitting my gun to myself after reading this with much experimentation . I’m not that patient so I’ll pay a stickfitter to help me.Last and most important, the author Rollin Oswald, made himself available to answer any questions I had. Simply PM him on Trapshooters forum and he responds quickly . He even looked at photos of my gun mount to make suggestions on some easy first steps. He’s quite a knowledgeable guy and eager to share his expertise.

Chop the first 5 chapters off (history stuff), add better illustrations, explain the importance (or lack thereof) of pitch, add some emphasis on working with modern field guns with synthetic stocks, explain how to control for the variation in face flesh thickness, and add some waterfowl hunting perspective (over-head shots, etc.). Since few people walk around with the gun pre-mounted and call "pull" to get their Chukar/Grouse/Quail/Pheasant to flush, it would be nice to focus more on the "how to" on mounting the shotgun in field conditions. There is adequate coverage of shooting from a gamer's perspective (and their high-end specialty guns), but not enough coverage of how to make the best with field guns.

This book is all that is needed to understand every dimension of a shotgun stock. I have a very lightweight shotgun that used to leave my face and shoulder purple after a box of shells. I had a nice recoil pad installed.It was a little better but still beat me up. I got on the internet and was directed to this book. After reading it I was able to evaluate my guns fit. With some experimentation I found a little more pitch and lop was all that I needed. With the same gun I can now shoot 100+ rounds a day without the slightest pain. I was also able to get the gun shooting where I look., For me it was an adjustment to my mount that I needed. On my 7th round of skeet in my life I broke 22! I feel this book was half of the reason I did so well. In the field I am bringing home more game. Now I am using the things I learned in this book to fit my g/f and teach her good fundamentals. She broke 17 on her 5th round of skeet and 2nd time ever shooting a shotgun in her life! I recommend this book to anyone, especially experienced shooters who think they know it all.

This is a good book for anyone interested in shotgun fit. If you are over 6' tall, like me...it may depress you as you will find you have little chance of becoming a world renowned Trap shooter. I had noodled a lot of the information out for myself already, but Rollin really does a great job of organizing and "rollin" the information up into a logical sequence that will save those who cannot get to...or afford a knowledgable stock fitter...and save them some aggravation. Not a substitute for a good stock fitter...but it will get you pointed in the right direction. If you want to hone your Trap skills and scores, add Mr. Oswald's book to your must read list.

I bought this textbook and received it the day classes started. Delivery was very timely and the book was in new condition. I was, however, quite disappointed with the quality of construction of the book. I paid over 200 dollars for it because I wanted a high quality textbook that I could keep as a reference on my desk for years of use. This textbook, while new and in good condition, was not a 200-dollar-quality textbook. It is probably 75 dollar quality. I don’t mind the lower quality but I feel taken advantage of that I paid 200 dollars for a 75 dollar book. If you are looking for a high quality book with good longevity, I would look elsewhere.Pros:- New quality- No errors in construction (all pages are present, no printing mistakes or blunders)Cons:- Pages and binding are stiff (not supple like a high quality textbook) and do not stay open to your page. You can’t open the textbook and set it down. You have to hold it open to your place the entire time you are reading. This is very difficult for taking notes.- Low quality binding: I’ve only had this book for a week and the binding is starting to crack because the book doesn’t open and lay flat for note taking.

This was my text for Compressible Flow. The book was OK for most purposes required when taking such a class. The examples and explanations were sufficient, granted the examples seemed to lack a bit. The worst part of the book was the feedback one needs before taking an exam.There weren't enough examples, or high enough quality examples, to be enough. I needed answers to some of the homework problems (which were good) to know if I knew what I thought I knew. Well, I had to wing it for the first exam, and it turned out I didn't.Luckily I've gotten hold of an answer key through the typical student grapevine. Unfortunately not all of you can count on such a luxury. I would recommend grabbing a Schaum's Outline for Fluid Mechanics as a start. It covers about the first half of this book. Well, it's a textbook. It's getting me through the class and is teaching me quite a bit. It explains everything quite well, but there are some typos, such as the oblique shock charts in the appendix. You could probably get the older version for way cheaper and it'd do the same job as this one.

Buy the first edition. My dad has the first edition from the 70’s. Nothing has changed but the page numbers. 95% of the homework problems are also the same.

This is a very cool subject. Knowing ch3 is key.

The authors of this textbook rely a little too much on equations to explain crucial concepts. But for those who already know the concepts but are curious about how those equations are derived, I really recommend reading this text book.

While Mr. Kersey is an excellent artist and by all accounts an excellent teacher, I have to say the book is a little disappointing. Mainly because after the first half, you realize you're just repeating the same techniques over and over. More trees, more grass, more of the same. Even that could have been interesting if there were a little more variation as far as subjects but unfortunately, there isn't. Yes, I realize that repetition is a great teacher. I can repeat the examples on my own, but I want variety here.The prepared line drawings do make it easier to focus on painting rather than drawing, even though these weren't given a lot of attention from what I can tell, pretty sloppy in my opinion. Granted, there is still a lot to be learned from this book. I just think it could have been made a little more interesting and better done. I started writing this review with the idea of saying what the book is, not what it isn't but that didn't work out somehow. Anyway, that's my review.

This book has some really good methods and exercises to help you in your landscape watercolor painting. I have done one painting in here already and plan to do more.

I’m really enjoying this book! It goes quickly so I am actually using it as I go through the lessons. The small format of your painting gives good results and I love being able to trace out the drawings. Some of the paint choices are hard to find so substitutions are needed.

I have to say that the presentation of the material was lengthy, like beating a dead horse just to do it. the author did a lot of research and made his case flawlessly. I have a new view on things as a result of this book. I can only say, read it till the end and keep an open mind.

First of all this book found me. Its a long story that I won't get into. I found this book (Ancient Knowledge) to be Profound. I have done some of the math and it works perfect and that in it self compelled me to read the whole book. I was raised in a very strict religious family and when I was eleven years old I rebelled and the rest is history. I have read the whole Bible Old testament and the New testament a very long time ago and I don't remember it all but the quote's Mr Curtis put in the book are factual. There probably isn"t a person on this planet that hasn't wondered where we came from and where are we going. This book and finding (The Treasure) took my breath away when I found out and I started shaking to my core because in that instant I knew I found what I have always been seeking and wondering all of my life about our origan and if I would find out before I die, I am a old man now with a curiosity of that of a child. I applaud Mr Curtis and his associate for this book. I plan on sharing this book with a lot of my like mind friends or at least with people with open minds. Aloha for now- -

This book is... ... ... interesting... ... ... in a weird sort of way. The author claims to have found "order" in Stonehenge's design. He further claims to have found a message "encoded" within the monument; a message he then ties to the solar system. This message pertains to a relationship between the distances of the orbits of the planets that he "proves mathematically"Since I just finished the book, I have not taken steps to validate his "mathematical proof" or determine whether there are alternate explanations for his results. That would require a second, slower, more analytical reading. So I reserve judgement on that, neither declaring it erroneous or correct.He then goes on to comment on the "real" story of the Bible. His observations are not unlike those of others who claim we were visited by "others" (extraterrestrials) with high technological prowess, in the past. But he then rambles on about the coming end of the world in a way that is reminiscent of some biblical writers, except in more modern terms. There is some melodrama and, if you look for them, you'll find some logical contradictions interspersed in his narrative.His "analysis" is not as good as Zachariah Zitchin's, but it's entertaining at times. If his math and his logic were to hold up and there were no alternate explanations, this might be an interesting contribution to the genre.My recommendation? Read if you have some spare time and don't have a better book.

The author gives a mathematical formula that any teacher of mathematics can verify.The extent of this book is to awaken one to the fact that the solar system, as an "ordered" phenomenon is evidence of some outside influence upon it.There is critical study of the ancient book of Genesis, as well as the Gospels.
